Who's Who

Here are just a few of the people you may meet when you visit St Mary's.

Church Administrator

Jacqui Pavey

Our Church Administrator might be the first person you have contact with at St Mary's. Our administrator, Jacqui, looks after our diary, arranges bookings for baptisms, weddings and funerals, organises services and provides help, support and information on all our activities. If you are new to St Mary's, have a question to ask or are unsure about anything in particular Jacqui is the best person to contact as she will be able to point you in the right direction or to the right person who can help.

Clergy

We are served by a number of ordained ministers at St Mary's;

Revd Canon Philip Ritchie

Philip and his family, wife Kate and children Kristin and Daniel, moved to Great Baddow in April 2011 when he became Team Rector of St. Mary's in the Great Baddow Team Ministry. Phil says he really enjoys being part of a church which has such a strong desire to share the love of Jesus Christ with the community of Great Baddow. Amongst his other interests Phil plays the drums, supports Manchester United and keeps chickens (when the foxes let him).

Revd Sue Finch
Revd Matthew Houghton (Curate)

Matt and his family, wife Kirsty and children Reuben and Hannah, moved to Gt Baddow in July 2016 when he became assistant Curate in the Great Baddow team. Matt’s passion is discipleship and helping people to grow in their faith. In his spare time Matt enjoys walking, watching films and listening to music.

Revd Canon Dr Roger Matthews
Revd Sandy Southee

Sandy and her husband Pete moved to Great Baddow with their children in 1965 when Pete came to work for Marconi's.  Sandy is retired from her post as Associate Minister and enjoys taking an active part in the congregation, also helping churches around us by leading services and other ministry when needed.  She leads the Prayer Ministry Team at St. Mary's.

Our Vision

St Mary’s is a Church whose purpose is to glorify and worship God; to follow Jesus, and, through his Holy Spirit, grow to be like him; sharing his transforming love.
