Sunday Services

We hold three Services each Sunday. We serve tea, coffee and cold drinks after the 10.00am and 6.30pm service, offering the opportunity for people to chat and get to know each other.

We encourage and organize worship of our Lord in a variety of  ways. We try to include traditional and contemporary elements in our worship and whilst incorporating different styles, our over-riding aim is to help people gain a closer and more fulfilling relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.  Our services attract people from different backgrounds, with different experiences and with a wide age-range and our aim is to assist all in drawing closer to God.

Communion is central to the life and work of St Mary’s Church and features, at different times, in all three Sunday services. We warmly invite all those attending our services to take communion with us should that be their normal practice in their own church. Should attendees feel uncomfortable taking communion, they are welcome to remain seated during the time communion is offered, or to come to the communion rail for a short prayer.

Sunday Morning Holy Communion (8.00am)
This is a quieter and more reflective Service following a more traditional pattern of worship.

Sunday Morning Service (10.00am)
This Service may take the form of an all-age worship Service, Morning Prayer or a Holy Communion Service. In addition to a mix of worship styles, we incorporate reports from link missionaries and mission organisations, news of ministries based at St Mary’s, prayer, quiet reflection, preaching and teaching. We organise a Family Service on the fourth Sunday of each month. This service is specifically arranged with all ages in mind. Other Services conclude with the children’s groups joining the adult church for the final song and reflection.

Sunday Evening Service (6.30pm)
Sunday evenings afford us the opportunity of organising a wide variety of Services, including Celtic services, Cafe style formats and Youth Services.
