Our Ministries

St Mary’s is a busy, vibrant and friendly church. In addition to our thriving children's and youth groups we organise men’s and women’s breakfasts, prayer days, conferences, concerts, and quiz nights. A number of church members serve on Missionary and Evangelism Committees, the Parochial Church Council and the District Church Council. Many more are involved in leading activities as varied as children’s and youth meetings, leading worship, running popular coffee mornings and leading baptism preparation classes.

We record Morning and Evening Services, offering recordings on a library system and we also run a well-resourced bookstall. We have a very active maintenance crew who tackle the routine maintenance of the Church, Church Centre and Bell Street Centre

We believe passionately that we are to make a difference to our community and to our world and to that end we are actively involved in pastoral and community care. We also provide aid through organisations such as TearFund, Christian Aid, Harvest for the Hungry, Mid Africa Concern and Operation Christmas Child. We support missionary work including Bible translation and radio broadcasts.

Whilst being very busy, we recognise the need for every member to play an active part in the life and ministry of the church. Should you have any particular interest in an existing ministry at St Mary’s or have a keen interest in seeing a new ministry start, please contact the church office, where you will be directed to the most appropriate person who might help you.
