St Mary’s is a large and growing church and it is vital that we utilise the gifts and abilities of members of the church. Our Ministry Leadership Team consists people who meet regularly to report on the different areas of ministry of the church and to discuss and to pray about the way ahead. Members of the Ministry Leadership Team are recognized by church members and commissioned by the Bishop of Bradwell. Our team have been discussing two key areas of ministry: Growth & how to deal with it. Our community & listening to the community. The team proposed forming a small group to discuss the issue of growth and to make suggestions as to how we should deal with it at St Mary’s. As a start to this, the team has been focusing on our purpose and core values. This statement of the Church’s purpose arises from the process of listening and consultation carried out over the past year by the Ministry Leadership Team. We are a church whose purpose is to glorify and worship God, follow Jesus, grow to be like him through his Holy Spirit and share his transforming love. Our Ministry Leadership Team includes; Revd Canon Philip Ritchie - Team Rector Revd Sandy Southee - Minister with responsibility for pastoral care, healing ministry and other clerical duties Sue Finch - Responsibility for children and youth within St Mary’s and the wider community Jenny Arthur - Pastoral care, particularly for those suffering illness, disability or bereavement Di Matthews - Evangelism Helen Willis - Communications & Church Warden Heather Ansell - Prayer Mark Brown - Creative ministries Andrew Podd - Church Warden |
